Description
You know you need to plan for your financial future, but how do you translate that big goal into actionable steps? There is a nearly infinite amount of free information available on how to invest our hard-earned money. Some of this information can help us, some is self-serving, some is flat out wrong, and much is confusing and contradictory. It can be overwhelming to know where to start and how to make sense of it all. But successfully building wealth doesn’t have to be complicated and time-consuming. In this seminar, Jessica Higgins and Shenandoah Sampson will walk you through the concepts, tools, and strategies that will set you on the right path. You’ll learn how to build a solid foundation for a successful financial future. You’ll leave with a better understanding of investment and retirement savings vehicles, the most important factors in successfully building wealth, and common pitfalls that investors must learn to navigate to be successful. Jessica and Shenandoah look forward to sharing their experience and answering your questions.
Jessica Higgins Biography:
In an interconnected world, the way we invest our money has impacts that reverberate throughout ecological and economic systems. At the same time, our financial investments provide the foundation for our families’ wellbeing and fuel for our goals and aspirations. Jessica’s work is to walk clients along the path of financial success while aligning their investments with their vision for a just and sustainable world. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, she brings technical expertise and experience to designing investment portfolios and developing comprehensive financial plans. With a Master of Science in sustainable development and a Master of Public Policy in environmental policy, she has a unique depth of knowledge of sustainable investing. She excels at bringing clarity to complex financial topics and guiding clients through the milestones of their financial lives.
Before joining Invera Wealth Advisors of Raymond James in 2014, Jessica worked to improve the welfare of animals in Latin America with Humane Society International, studied Painted Dogs in Zimbabwe, rescued pets in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, and served in the Peace Corps in Central America. She lives in Bend, Oregon with her husband Shenandoah and their sons Kai and Taj. She enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, snowboarding, traveling and teaching her boys to be good stewards of the planet.
Shenandoah Sampson's Biography:
As a Financial Advisor and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Shenandoah loves deciphering the ever-changing state of the economy, business, and global markets and translating that understanding into success for our clients. He is also fascinated by the growing body of behavioral finance research. He believes that through better understanding common biases and cognitive shortcuts, investors’ outcomes can be drastically improved.
Shenandoah received his master’s degree from Harvard University in International Education Policy and his bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Dartmouth College. Before joining Invera Wealth Advisors of Raymond James, Shenandoah worked at the U.S. Department of State managing the Fulbright Program, the flagship international educational exchange program of the U.S. government. He served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Burkina Faso, West Africa, where he taught mathematics at a rural high school for two years. Shenandoah is also a former professional snowboarder, which brought him to Bend for the first time back in the 90’s. Happily, he was finally able to move to Bend full-time several years ago with his wife Jessica and their sons Kai and Taj.
