After a 13-year hiatus, the Central Oregon Symphony is proud to have pianist Robert Thies return to Central Oregon performing Beethoven’s Fourth Piano Concerto. Robert, a Gold Medal Winner at the International Prokofiev Competition in Russia, has been described by the LA Times as “a pianist of unerring warm-toned refinement, revealing judicious glimmers of power.” The rousing “Jubilee” from American composer George Whitefield Chadwick’s Symphonic Sketches will open the second half of the concert followed by the iconic Firebird Suite, the composition that launched the storied career of twentieth-century musical pioneer, Igor Stravinsky.
