As Central Oregon comes alive with the energy of spring, the Central Oregon Symphony invites the community to experience its Spring Concert Series, a vibrant orchestral celebration filled with color, emotion, and renewal. These performances also mark a significant and heartfelt milestone: the final concerts led by Maestro Michael Gesme, concluding his distinguished and impactful tenure with the Symphony.

Audiences are invited to join in honoring both the changing season and Maestro Gesme’s remarkable legacy through a program that spans dramatic intensity, lyrical beauty, and dazzling orchestral storytelling.

The Spring Concert Series opens with Verdi’s La Forza del Destino Overture, a powerful introduction rich with sweeping melodies and operatic drama. The program continues with Jonathan Leshnoff’s Elegy for Strings, Harp, Timpani, and French Horns, a contemporary and deeply moving reflection on loss and memory. Grieg’s Norwegian Dances, Op. 35 brings lively folk-inspired charm, while Ponchielli’s beloved “Dance of the Hours” sparkles with elegance and wit. The concert concludes with Respighi’s Pines of Rome, a breathtaking sonic journey through the Eternal City, bursting with color and grandeur.
