Anchor/Multi-media Journalist
KTVZ-TV is searching for an Anchor / Multimedia Journalist to join our award-winning news team in Central Oregon. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated journalist who is passionate about strong local storytelling, community-focused journalism, and newsroom leadership. The successful candidate will anchor and produce our evening newscasts while also reporting meaningful, engaging stories that reflect the people and places we serve.
This full-time position includes anchoring, producing, reporting, writing, shooting, and editing video; and contributing content across digital and social media platforms. The Anchor / Multimedia Journalist will be responsible for copyediting, live reporting, web coverage, and social media posting, and may be called upon to take on additional newsroom responsibilities as news demands require. The ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, multi-platform newsroom is essential.
In addition to daily newsroom responsibilities, this position carries an expectation of leadership. The successful candidate will help mentor and support young and developing journalists, offering guidance on storytelling, newsroom best practices, and professional growth. As a visible leader in the newsroom, the Anchor / Multimedia Journalist will set the example and uphold high standards for accuracy, fairness, ethical journalism, and professionalism, both on and off the air.
The ideal candidate is an effective communicator with strong writing skills, solid news judgment, and a confident, professional on-air presence. We are looking for an enterprising reporter who is comfortable using social media and digital tools to tell stories and engage with our audience, who works well as part of a team, and who takes pride in leading by example.
This is a full-time position that requires evening and weekend availability, with schedule flexibility based on news coverage. Prior on-air news experience is preferred, along with a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field. The position requires the operation of a company or personal vehicle for business purposes, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
