Stahancyk, Kent and Hook have been providing legal services in Bend, Oregon for 23 years focusing on family and estate law.

Founded in 1998, our Bend office has grown to be the largest Family Law practice in Central Oregon. Under the guidance of managing shareholder Joel Kent, the SKH Bend office has flourished by prioritizing client services and community involvement. The office is conveniently located downtown, within walking distance of the Courthouse.

Parking is available in the lot in the front of our building.

History

In 2006, Stahancyk, Kent & Hook undertook the task of renovating a 3,800 square-foot multi-office complex in Bend that would soon become the new home of our Central Oregon office. Turning a podiatrist’s office, a dentist’s office, and a computing business into a comfortable space for a family law firm took vision and creativity.

We hired an in-house contractor so that we could supervise the work internally while working with the community around us. Workers were specifically instructed to dismantle the structures intact so we could donate as much as possible to the non-profit organization Habitat for Humanity. This included everything from cabinets and boards to the molding of the floors, even the screws in the walls. In this way, SKH was able to give back to the Bend community even before our official opening.

After renovating, we furnished our space to make it comfortable for our clients and co-workers. Since we purchased a building from the 1970s we decided to use the ‘70s era as a design concept. The office also takes special care to reflect the origins of the Bend area. It houses framings of old posters, record album covers, historic photos, stretched fabric, and antique regional pieces. Even the lights are original fixtures. Much of our furniture was re-covered with vintage fabric. The carpets are classic rya rugs and our iron stairway was handcrafted specifically for the space. All in all, we’ve created an inviting space, where clients coming to see their attorney can feel comfortable.

Jody Stahancyk wanted the Bend office to exhibit a welcoming and fun environment and after extensive remodeling, the task was complete. The Greenwood building became the Bend office’s permanent home. In October 2007, Stahancyk, Kent and Hook P.C. opened its doors for our clients.
